HWV Health Checks

The MINIMUM health checks for a HWV are:

• Hip Scoring for BOTH PARENTS. The current breed average is a total of when the left and right scores are added together. The lowest possible score is 0 and the highest is 106. The higher the score, the greater the degree of hip dysplasia. Visit the BVA for more information on hip dysplasia.
• HUU status for BOTH PARENTS. Urate Stone Disorder, or HUU for short, is where the uric acid does not dissolve easily in urine and accumulates.  The excessive amount of uric acid forms crystals which lead to urinary calculi (stones), which may require surgery.  For more information please visit the Kennel Club website here.
